Aurora United Church resurrection looms...

Photos by Barry Wallace

Pictured above is the new tower and steeple of the Aurora United Church which burned to the ground on April 11, 2015.   It is already an instant landmark on Yonge Street in the middle of town, adjacent and connected to the new Amica Aurora Retirement facility development being constructed.   Both structures are scheduled to open their new doors in 2025.

Polyphemus Moth?

I think this is Polyphemus Moth that I photographed at  an unknown butterfly sanctuary in southern Ontario a few years ago.   It is about 5" wide and has what appears to be an amazing eyeball on each hind wing.

Walking Stick Bug in Aurora...

Above is a Walking Stick Bug I photographed on a rainy window in Aurora this week.   It was about 5" long and appeared to be looking for a dry spot....  Interesting creature.

I have been a fan of Schomberg's Marianne McBroom's paintings for several years.   I was delighted to see her painting above, on the wall of my new best friend, Pat Cromie, at Delmanor Retirement Residence in Aurora.   I was spellbound by the colours and presentation.
