Not sure if you remember the old TV show Front Page Challenge? There was a man called Charles Templeton who was a cartoonist, politician, newspaper editor, broadcaster and author.
My parents bought his cottage on Georgian Bay from him in the early 60's. He left behind many interesting books but I was too young to remember, I just remembered the story.
I wonder if the place you found is a relative of his?
