Built on Yonge Street, on the west side of Bond Lake, approximately 123 years ago, the 1,000 hp. Bond Lake Power Station provided power to the Yonge Street rail line but also provided surplus power to some nearby communities such as King City. Remnants of the facility can still be seen today, as pictured below.

Fascinating, there must have been running water back in the day for the station to work.
