Canal-side in the Holland Marsh
The Sumac is a small tree of the cashew family. Its compound leaves, conical fruit clusters, bright red/orange/yellow fall colours, and its small tree size make it contrast sharply but pleasantly with other trees in our treescapes. It is found everywhere in King Township including along the banks of the Holland Marsh canals, where the photo above was taken.
