The Methodist church in Kettleby was built in 1873 and was closed in 1966 after 93 years of services.   It was sold and converted into an antique shop and home.

63-year-old Porsche is a looker...

I was out and about recently doing many things and came across this 1957 Porsche not far from home.   I was amazed how much a 63-year-old Porsche looked like the 2020 Porsche available today.   I think the Porsche 356 coupe was first made in 1948 - 72 years ago.   I guess if you come up with a perfect design, it becomes timeless ... a classic.

This is a photo that I will be running in my BarrytheBirder blog but which I thought might be appreciated here also.   A Canada Goose has decided this ancient and decrepit tree would make a good nesting spot.   It seems an  unusual and perhaps inexplicable choice, but that's Canada Geese for you...always individualistic and a bit weird.

A 2nd visit to Cawthra Mulock Nature Reserve...

This sign is dedicated to the nature lovers who have helped to secure the future for wild species and wild spaces at the Cawthra Mulock Nature Reserve.

The stream pictured above will wend its way north-west through the reserve and eventually reach the Holland Marsh.

The dam that once contained the pond at the reserve was replaced with a wooden bridge (above) to allow the pond-water to flow more freely to the west, but the photos above and below show how beaver are working to build a dam of their own to control water levels.   It is one of two dams they have created.   The first one had to be partially breached to maintain a constant flow of water at an ideal depth.

Ontario Nature has created

a sign (above) to thank the generosity of almost 90 individuals who have made gifts to Ontario's wild species and wild spaces, including the Cawthra Mulock Nature Reserve.
