It's been more than 50 years since King City was described as 'denuded' by the citizenry of the village as they were held hostage to the widening of Keele Street and the King Road, from two lanes of pavement to four lanes and the end of the village as residents of the day knew it. Now its the entire northeast quadrant of King City that is about to disappear beneath the scorching breath of the development dragon. It is a fait accompli, so nothing has changed half a century later. The views below show the amazing expanse of the lands already cleared and this is only a small portion of the site approvals. John Belknap must be turning over in his grave!
This home on the east side of Keele Street, just a couple of doors north of the four corners in King City, has some rather large sunflowers on display this year. The tallest one (right side of photo) is approximately 13' (390 cm) tall. Anyone seen one bigger than this, this summer?
