Peacock (a.k.a. Pea Fowl)

                                                                                                  Photos by Barry Wallace

I came across this beautiful range-free peacock on the north  side of the 19th Sideroad, just west of Lloydtown last week.  It was very calm and posed quite patiently for me in front of a nearby house which I presumed was its home.

Between Snowball and Kettleby...

...let a horse
whisper in you ear
and breathe on your heart
you will never forget it

Massive maple removed in Kettleby

Landmark tree removed at church
The huge maple tree in front the Kettleby Anglican Church was taken down last Friday.   It was determined that because of the age and size, the old tree presented a serious hazard to the church and its adherents and there was no safe alternative to removing it.

Muscrats in Field Farm pond on Keele Street

Photos by Barry Wallace
I photographed this pair of muskrats gathering and dining on healthy green food, at the pond on the farm of the Field family, on Keele Street opposite Cavell Avenue, just north of the 16th Sideroad.

Once the pair had their fill of leafy salad, they slipped into the water and headed to a den on the side of the pond where they had been picnicking.
