More Delmanor door art...

In blog two days ago, I showed a photo of a piece of door hanging art by a Delmanor Retirement Residence tenant who had quilted a magnificent and colourful elephant.   I was inspired to select other similar pieces in the halls of Delmanor for display also.   I hope you enjoy them.

Above is a new and colourful door hanging appearing at a resident's apartment at Delmanor Retirement Residence on Yonge Street in Aurora.   It graces the apartment entrance of its artistic and skilled creator, 90-year-old  Margaret.  The work is a resplendent quilted endeavor measuring over four square feet and features an African elephant.   It's extraordinary craftsmanship by an extraordinary woman.   Well done, Margaret!

Mr. Chen celebrates his 100th birthday at Delmanor Retirement Residence...

Mr. W. M. Chen celebrated his 100th birthday on February 1, 2025, at Delmanor Retirement Residence on Yonge Street in Aurora.   Pictured above is the smiling centenarian about to celebrate with a glass of wine, and behind him on his right is his daughter, also a Delmanor resident and on her left, is my friend Pat Cromie, another Delmanor resident.   In the picture below, and also seen above on the table, is one of 100 chocolate candy boxes which Mr. Chen's family distributed to each diner in the Delmanor dining room and pub during his birthday lunch.   It occured to me, that few us get to live into a 2nd century and the occasion is therefore quite noteworthy!   Best wishes in your second century Mr. Chen.
