Pat becomes a flower girl...
My partner at Delmanor Retirement Residence, in Aurora, Pat Cromie, became the flower girl at the wedding of one of her granddaughters last weekendn near Orillia. Pat was applauded as she walked down the aisle throwing out rose petals before her. It was the bride's modern-day idea to have her grandmother as the flower girl.

D-Day, Normandy France. June 6, 1944
Above are commemorative pins at the top of key strap I wear around my neck, which holds my room key at Delmanor Retirement Residence in Aurora and an electronic personal security device. The top two pins were purchased by my two grandsons William and Spencer, who live in Aurora, on a school trip to France in 2023. Both pins recall the WWII invasion, 81 years ago, on June 6, 1944, by allied nations at Normandy, France during the 'War to end all Wars'. I treasure these mementos.

Remarkable sunset...
Monday, June 2, at 7.30 pm.
In the western sky
over Aurora and King Township
For a minute the setting sun is seen, as pictured above, before being completely swallowed up by a huge grey cloudbank containing smoke residue from recent forest fires in Manitoba and Saskatchewan.
