Backyard squirrel loses left front foot...

This backyard squirrel has been around for a few weeks chasing away all the other squirrels that try to get at the spilled bird seed under the the feeders.   Its not as fast as the other squirrels and that's because it is missing its front left foot and part of the leg.   Necessity is the mother of invention and this brave critter has adapted and seems to be surviving quite well.

Lune de neige...

SNOW MOON
This photo was taken by my neice, April Dawn Gull, who lives in Wemindji, northern Quebec, on the shores of James Bay.   She is the daughter of my youngest sister, Denise Georgekish, a teacher, who lived in King City in her younger days, but has lived in the cold snowy north for many a year.

Jaime the cat hangs on...

Jaime, our family cat, spends half his day sleeping on the back of the sofa cushions.   During the course of his long naps, he slips down towards the seat cushions.  But, he never falls off.   Maybe I should be clipping his nails .
