Freezing rain and sleet begin...

The first day of December brought freezing rain, then sleet, and then blowing snow, but the Mourning Doves were oblivious to the weather as long as I kept the feeders full.

Vote for your favourite Christmas tree...

Pictured above is one of the many decorated Christmas trees now on display at the King Heritage & Cultural Centre where adults and children can visit and vote for their favourite tree.   One vote costs a dollar, five votes costs $5, etc., etc.   Each dollar contributed counts as a vote for your favourite tree.   Vote for your favourite tree as many times as you like and help the community group that decorated it, to win 'BEST in SHOW'   All proceeds from this year's 'Tree of Giving' display will go to HOPE HOUSE COMMUNITY HOSPICE (formerly Hospice King-Aurora).   Last day to vote is Friday, December 13th.

Do the two white burros at Dog Tales Rescue & Sanctuary, on the 19th Sideroad in King Township, disappear when it snows heavily and everything is white?

Inspiration at Dog Tales Retreat...

This brave beagle has only one eye and its back legs are useless, but it exercises with the other dogs at Dog Tales with the help of some tender loving care and a set of customized wheels.

When I took this photo, the handicapped beagle had just flipped over his 'wheelygig' after chasing other dogs.   A handler was nearby and got the beagle back on its feet and wheels.   The chasing immediately resumed.   What a dog!   Linda would have loved it.
