Bottom of 11th Concession - Humber River
There's a piece of land in the very corner of south-west King Township between the lower portion of the 11th Concession, in the south, and the Humber River in the west. It features a hiking trail that is oblong-shaped in a north-south orientation. There's a rudimentary parking area for vehicles and the trail starts in a southerly direction or a westerly direction as soon as you get out of your vehicle. Whichever direction you choose, you will complete a circuit (about the size of a 100-acre farm) and end up back at the same place you started. You will follow along the eastern bank of the Humber River for about half the route and you'll notice the river is much broader here than anywhere else in King Township. The trail is wide enough to accommodate two people side-by-side and appears to be mowed and maintained by the Township of King. There's even a couple of makeshift seats at the half way point of the trail where one can sit and quietly view the Humber River valley. Hopefully, the pictures here will convey the remote peacefulness of this quiet corner of King. The trail is quite easy for any sort of walker/hiker, including children, and even creaky oldtimers like me.
