From my Marylake Monastery photo files...
I published a summer solstice photo about four weeks ago. While writing about Marylake Monastery for yesterday's Camera On King & Aurora blog, I remembered a summer solstice photo I took several years ago of the lake at Marylake. See photo above.

Ten year anniversary at Marylake...
The 'Largest Rosary in the World' and the Great Crucifix at Marylake Monastery, on Keele Street just north of King City, will celebrate their 10th anniversary on August 14th of this year. The Rosary Path is 1.5 kilometres long and crosses 20 acres of rolling land. The path starts with the 19' Great Crucifix (pictured above), sculpted by noted Canadian artist Timothy Schmale.

Sunset over Aurora and King - July 11, 2025
Simplify, slowdown, be kind.
And don't forget to have art in you life,
music, dance and sunsets.

The Petch House reborn...
The completion of the $50,000 renovation plan was acheived in a little over one year. The cabin had sat empty since it was originally restored in 2013. Now that renovations are complete, The Petch House can be officially booked as a wedding chapel. It is expected to be ideal for couples looking for a small wedding space.
The tale of the Petch House's past and rebirth is told on this plaque which is to be found on the structure's new site.
