King City Trail between Keele and Dennison

This King City Trail begins on the south side of East Humber Drive about 100 metres east of Keele Street.   It is less than a kilometre long and ends at Dennison Street.   The trail has a natural surface and can be soggy for a day or two after a good rain, but is mainly flat and wide enough for two people to walk side-by-side, most of the way.   The trail follows the small pretty stream that flows west and joins the East Humber River at Keele Street.   It's not a long walk but can easily last an hour if one ambles from one end to the other and back again, enjoying scenes such as those pictured here.

The tiny rivulet, pictured above, has dozens of 1.5 inch fingerling fish rushing back and forth.

Wind damage on willow trees can happen easily but township staff do a great job of tidying up.

Stream bank stabilization is acheived by using nearby cuttings of brush to mitigate erosion of the affected areas.

The trail is heavily wooded with dozens of the trees soaring 80 and 90' tall, creating a cathedral-like feeling overhead.
