Minister's personalized parking spot

Reverend Evelyn McLachlan of the King City United Church, on Elizabeth Grove in King City, has her own designated parking spot, in front of the church.   Judging by the wording of the sign there is no standing on formalities when it comes to the good minister.

Sushi Bar & Bistro to open in King City

New restaurant on Keele

King City's restaurant scene appears to becoming more interesting as the Paper Crane Sushi Bar & Bistro prepares to open on Keele Street, next to the Crawford Wells Emporium.   With so much new housing coming on stream and several commercial properties in the village up for sale or already changed hands, it seems the much-anticipated metamorphosis of the village (for better or worse) is well underway.

New secret spot at Seneca

I was bird-watching at Seneca College, on Dufferin Street, this past Saturday, and came across the sign, pictured at top, near the location of Villa Fiora ( Lady Eaton's first home in King  before Eaton Hall).   I knew the sign was a new feature and was curious to see what it portended.   Inside the adjacent cedar grove, pictured above, was an in-the-round art studio, equipped with several easels and a collection of paintings supplies.   Judging by the size of the easels, the painting being done here is created by children, and the setting is indeed magical.   Kudos to the creator of this simple but splendid venue.
