King City is about to have all five of Canada's major banks with branches in the village. Scotiabank and Bank of Montreal, in the new King's Ridge Marketplace at the north-west corner of the King Road and Dufferin Street, are about to join the CIBC, TD Bank and Royal Bank serving the village of 2,500 to 3,000 dwellings, when current infilling is complete. This works out to about one bank for every 500 to 600 households. Opening of the Scotiabank is supposed to be on Monday, September 8. I do not know the opening date of the BMO branch. The two new banks are only a few metres apart and share common parking spaces...very cozy, indeed.
