People put all sorts of things at the end of their driveways for passersby to spot and cart off to a new home. I can't remember the last time I stopped to check out a roadside offering, but I just couldn't resist this expensive-looking Celestron telescope that was propped in a snowbank on the King Road, east of King City. I knocked on a door and asked if I could have the "passport to Pluto" and was told it was all mine. I forgot to ask if it was still operational but will discover that for myself, I suppose. I'm not technically inclined (I still haven't figured out how paper clips work) so there's no guarantee I'll see anything celestial.
I'll update on this bit of impromptu scavenging sometime later in the year.
Please comment if you wish.

Nice tripod too!
ReplyDeleteKeep us posted. It was meant to be yours as you have a good eye for details. The telescope is happy having you as its new owner. I'm sure you will come up with something.
