Barry - If you're talking to anyone from the fire dept. , you can pass on this story. I remember years ago my dad (Alex) telling of the time back in the early 50s he went with Chief Pete Glass to buy a fire truck for the King City F. D - not sure if was a private sale or from another dept. They came to an agreement on price etc. and a deal was made. As they were about to leave for King , they were told that the truck was only able to make right hand turns. This was due to the fact that a pipe going from the tank to the pump prevented any turns to the left. They figured out how to drive the truck back to King and the first order of business was to reroute the pipe. I wish there was a photo of the truck.
