Like a peeled banana...

Sometimes, nature has its own way of expediting the death of a damaged tree.   This one is on the King-Vaughan townline near Dufferin Street.

Can they be seen when it snows?

The white burros at Dog Tales
Do the two white burros at Dog Tales Rescue & Sanctuary, on the 19th Sideroad in King Township, disappear when it snows heavily and everything is white?
Perhaps.

Inspiration at Dog Tales Retreat...

 Photos by Barry Wallace

This brave beagle has only one eye and its back legs are useless, but it exercises with the other dogs at Dog Tales with the help of some tender loving care and a set of customized wheels.

When I took this photo, the handicapped beagle had just flipped over his 'wheelygig' after chasing other dogs.   A handler was nearby and got the beagle back on its feet and wheels.   The chasing immediately resumed.   What a dog!   Linda would have loved it.

My dear wife Linda has passed away...

Linda Catherine Wallace
Linda passed away on November 13th after a short battle with an inoperable cancer tumor.   My two daughters, Allison and Auralee, and I spent the last 13 days of her life, at her bedside in Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto.   Previously, I told her that I was stopping the writing of my two daily blogs until she was back in good health, if in a somewhat altered state.  But fate took over and she wasted away quickly.  Among many other things, she told me to resume my blogs as soon as possible.   They will resume in the near future.  Meanwhile, I miss you terribly my dear.
Love, Barry
