My King City house goes up for sale...

After 36 years of living in the house pictured above, on Forde Crescent in King City, I have put the house up for sale.   After losing my dear wife Linda to cancer 18 months ago, I have decided to leave King City and to move into the brand new Delmanor Aurora retirement community.   I'll be one block away from my eldest daughter, her husband and their two boys.   What becomes of my 'Camera on Kingblogsite when I move from King City to Aurora?   Well, nothing in the foreseeable future.   That will also be the case for my  'BarrytheBirder' blogsite.   I'm expecting to have even more time to spend on photographic pursuits for my two blogsites.   See you down the road.

Best wishes to Rosie...golden forever!

This sign of encouragement for Canadian Olympic athlete Rosie MacLennan stands in the centre of King City, at the intersection of King Road and Keele Street.   Her performance looked good enough to me to take the gold again.   Great effort Rosie and thank you.

New style of ice fishing hut?

Photos by Barry Wallace
These Items for sale in the Holland Marsh, appear to me to be a new style of ice-fishing hut.   They are located at the business property operating on the south-east corner of Hwy. 400 and the North Canal Road.   Looks kind of interesting.

Herewith are three photos of the Laskay Emporium in various states and times of its 176-year existence.   The top photo was taken at some point after 1845.   The middle  photo was taken in 1960 when the Emporium was moved to Black Creek Pioneer Village in North York.   The bottom photo was taken after its move and restoration at Black Creek.
