Pat and I enjoyed a screening of the movie 'Song Sung Blue' at Delmanor Retirement Residence in Aurora on July 25. The tribute movie, featured the music of Neil Diamond and the real-life story of Mike and Claire Sardina, who performed as a popular Neil Diamond tribute band named Lightning & Thunder, in the early 2000s.
The movie starred Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson. Jackman's portrayal of Mike Sardina, in my opinion, was worth an Oscar nomination.
One of the 20 Delmanor residents who viewed the movie, said it brought her to tears. It certainly was a movie of great performances and great music.
