On Forde Crescent in King City...

Here's a Canadian flag I've never seen before.
It has suddenly popped up across the street from me on a fence between 228 and 242 Forde Crescent in King City.  It turns out that it is a Gay Canada Pride Flag, and I must say it certainly is colourful, if not somewhat opportunistic.

MPP has Christmas spirit year-around...

I'm not sure if MPP Stephen Lecce has left this Christmas decoration up too long on his King City office, or whether It's been put up long before the next Christmas season.   Maybe it's to keep spirits bright for Premier Ford.

This beauty was parked at the Spresso Cafe on Keele Street, In King City, on Tuesday morning.   I do not know what this car is called and I'm not sure whether this is the back end or the front end.   I bet it goes like stink though!

Parked at Spresso Cafe in King City...

Two days ago it was a Rolls Royce SUV parked in this spot and on Sunday a Bentley takes the spot. The centre of King City has become a mini-international car show every Saturday and Sunday morning as owners sip their favourite coffee creation at Spresso.

Vendors Day at King City's Roost Cafe...

One of the many vendors at King City's Roost Cafe this past Saturday, was local resident Tiziana D'Angelo   Tiziana told me to just call her Tiz, so Tiz it is.   Tiz has many, many talents and the one on display on this occasion, was tie-dying.  I decided to get one of my L.L. Bean shirts done, knowing that the long-deceased L.L. Bean himself would be turning over in his grave at the thought of someone (a Canadian of course) desecrating one of his classic shirts by having it tie-dyed!    Unfortunately, the material was not cotton, but polyester.   The inks were not readily absorbed and the colours in the dyed shirt, were not like the one pictured above. They were very subdued.  I still like the subtle colours, but next time will have Tiz tie-dye a cotton shirt for me.   Nothing too psychedelic or flamboyant however for someone in his 80th year.

On the King-Vaughan townline...

I don't know what it's called
but it sure is pretty.
I see it upon many of King's rural fence lines.

My kid sister gets around...just like mom did

Photos by April Dawn Georgekish-Gull

Denise at Valemount, B.C.
Some folks in King Township may remember my kid sister, Denise Georgekish.   She was a prom queen at King City Secondary School back in the 1970s, but spent most of her adult life in the native village of Wemindji, in northern Quebec.  She's currently on a trip to western Canada with her daughter, April Dawn Georgekish-Gull, and she looks mighty fine for someone who was born 70 years ago.   You keep motoring girls and have fun.

Is nothing sacred?!?

Are you kidding me?
A ROLLS ROYCE SUV?
It was parked outside the Spesso Cafe on Keele Street in King City on Saturday.   Needless to say it turned a lot of heads.   Apparently it's called the Cullinan, costs somewhere around $350,000 to $400,000, seats five people, and has no spare tire!

Climate change activists get the message out...

Photos by Barry Wallace
Thunberg supporters spread message
King supporters of climate change activist Greta Thunberg have become fixtures at the four corners in King City on Fridays and they are getting a supportive cacophony of car and truck horns by passersby.   Big truckers in particular seem to really get into honking their big horns!

Trail from King Road to GO Train Station...

Photos by Barry Wallace
I took these photos on my first-ever trail walk from King Road in the north, down to the GO Train station at the south end of the village of King City.    The trail is located on the west side of the railway tracks amid substantial wetlands and trees.   Access to the trail is from the south side of the King Road, via a paved path (pictured above).

More than one bunny greeted me on my ramble.

A dog named Zoe checked me out at the dog park

New sign in Kettleby...

The Kettleby Valley Camp, has erected a new sign at the entrance to its facility on the west side of the hamlet of Kettleby.   It includes a reference to RICHILDACA (Richmond Hill Day Camp) 1957, the forerunner of Kettleby Valley Camp.  That's a 60+ year history for the classic kids summer camping experience.

Fresh-picked corn fills pickup truck...

This young gentleman was selling corn from the back of a pickup truck on Sunday, on Bathurst Street.   I commented that it looked like a heck of a lot corn.   He replied it took two guys three hours to pick and  fill the back of the truck.   I had a cob for dinner on Sunday night and it was as good as any I've had!

Backyard bunny...

Photos by Barry Wallace
This is one of two bunnies in my backyard.   It's usually rather timid, showing up early in the morning or in the evening.   But lately, it is spending more time here during the middle of the day.   But the hot mid-day sun and high temperatures take their toll, so this bunny now stretches out on its belly, in the cool grass while nibbling.   Where there's a will, there's a way.

King City Secondary School...

High tower for 'High School'

A crane lifting large, heavy equipment (replacement air conditioning, maybe) onto the roof of the King City Secondary school for the last several days appears to be soaring a stunning 100 feet above 'higher' learning.  When fully upright it can be seen from just aboput everywhere in the village.
