RED SQUIRREL
(Tamiasciurus hudsonicus)

This Red Squirrel was asleep on a branch for several minutes before I decided to get close enough for a good photo.   Its sixth sense made it open its eye to check me out, however, and it did not move until I got my photo ... very cooperative.   While putting this blog together, I happened to come across the photo below by Lindsay Trostle.   She took this photograph at Norway Lake, Killarney Provincial Park in Ontario.   I did not know that red squirrels were swimmers.      Perfect photo Lindsay.
