Red Admiral visits Buddha

Red Admiral butterflies are aggressive creatures that frequently claim a territory and defend it against any intruder.   When I spotted this one in my garden, perched on the Buddha's head, I wondered how long it would stay there.   It stayed long enough for me to run and get my camera. After several minutes, however, it fluttered on its way.   The compliant Buddha kept smiling throughout the encounter.

  1. It made me smile too. It looks as if the Buddha is having fun with the butterfly. Nice picture.
