European Larch

The European Larch, is a deciduous tree, which is green in the spring and summer, and yellow in the fall before shedding.   It prefers moist soil in humid cool temperate regions.   It is native to northern and central Europe and also grows in the north-eastern United States and south-east Canada.   It is similar to the Tamarack or Eastern Larch.   This photo was taken at Cold Creek Conservation Area.
