Purple Loosestrife bouncing back?

Purple Loosestrife comeback?
As a daily birder around central York Region, I am seeing  more Purple Loosestrife than Purple Finches.   It surely looks like an invasive comeback is underway.   I see it mostly starting to clog up roadside ditches all over.   No doubt the Region of York will be on top of this quickly and launch an attack on one of the most damaging, invasive plants, with a previous serious record hereabouts, and nip the invasion in the bud.   Too bad it's such a pretty damned plant.
