Cast was stunning in Miller's classic
My partner Pat and I attended opening night of the Curtain Club of Richmond Hill's recent presentation of the Arthur Miller classic drama 'ALL MY SONS'. Not unexpectedly, the play was grim and depressing but the performances by the 12-member amateur cast, who reportedly had spent three and half months rehearsing this play, were outstanding. The final scene of the play climaxes with a loud, off-stage gunshot, that takes the life of one of the main characters. At the end of the play, I leapt to my feet, shouted "BRAVO!" and applauded wildly. Many in the audience around me shouted bravos also and many gave a standing ovation to the cast taking its bows. It was a sobering play, but it was an inspired and brilliantly presented production. It was local community theatre at its best!
