My first Tilley Hat got too heavy...

I came across this oldtimer in the top of a closet recently.   It's my first Tilley Hat.   It's decades old.   Over the years I realized the thing to do was to stick your Tilley Hat full of small commemorative medallions - which I did.   The problem was that over time the hat became so heavy that it hurt.   I had to give it up.   At the time, the hat had 80 of those little medallions.   They ranged from Algonquin Park to Point Pelee, to Long Point Bird Observatory, to Toronto Zoo,  to Arizona Desert Museum, ...and on...and on...and on.   The hat was retired decades ago.   Now I am quite content with a nifty broad-brimmed straw hat that is as light as a feather.   Did you have one of these?

Please comment if you did.

  1. I love it Barry! I have a few as well with no pins and only use them when boating. I prefer the wide brimmed straw hat like you when I am at home.

    Cheers!
