A pair of Swainson's Hawks, which normally are found in the central United States, have taken up residence over Aurora and King in the past 30 days. One of birds in this pair is thought to be the same Swainson's Hawk that spent the summer and fall in this area last year, before migrating south. It is remarkable to think that this same bird has returned to Aurora this year, instead of returning to U.S. midwest. This year's pair have been observed building a nest at the top of tall trees in the southwest end of Aurora.
