The centre of King City continues to be upgraded as new sidewalks are installed on the east side of Keele Street, between the King Road and just south of All Saints Anglican Church. Pedestrian safety and comfort will be improved by the infrastructure upgrade. Unfortunately, traffic flow and congestion will not likely improve because no traffic flow improvements have been created on the actual roadway. The volume of vehicle traffic through King City on the village's two main roads (Keele St. and King Rd.) increases maddeningly. Meanwhile, in the eastern part of the village, traffic into and out of the new housing subdivisions and the King Ridge Marketplace shopping centre has no traffic lights at any of its access points. Challenges for pedestrians and drivers abound. God keep us safe.
