GO Transit going to two tracks through King...

Photos by Barry Wallace
Preparations are underway to install a second Go Transit line from Toronto to King City and to Barrie.   The photo above, looking south-west was taken from the Bathurst Street overpass.   The photo below shows a southbound train about to go under the Keele Street/King Road overpass.   The bottom photo shows a Go Train heading north from King City across Station Road.   The Barrie Go Transit expansion will offer all-day, two-way GO train service from Lake Simcoe to Lake Ontario and everywhere in between.

  1. If you build it will they come? MetrolinX and York Region added the fancy east/west bus lanes on Davis Drive a few years ago and the buses are pretty much empty. To add to this the regular town bus must use the same lanes as cars, they are not allowed in the special bus lanes. Kind of silly in my opinion.

The hope was for an influx of condominiums on Davis and to date there is one new building and one being built. Hopefully over time the strategy will pay off.
