There are a dozen species of skunks including the Striped Skunk, 10 of which are found here in the Western Hemisphere.
To get rid of skunk smell, a combination of ventilation, cleaning with specific solutions, and potentially professional help is recommended. For pets and clothing, a mixture of hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, and dish soap is effective. For homes... ventilation, air purifiers, and specialized deodorizers can help. Good luck!
