Wasps in the above photo appear to be hornets
Hornets are the largest type of social wasps, meaning all hornets are wasps, but not all wasps are hornets. Key differences include size (hornets are larger and rounder), body features (hornets have little hair), while some other wasps have pinched waists), colour patterns (hornets often have white/yellow and black, while other wasps have more varied black and yellow patterns).
